Advances in Optimization Technologies for Product Design
CALL FOR PAPERS and EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

In recent years, great strides have been made to improve the capabilities of
and access to optimization techniques in the product design process. In
this upcoming NAFEMS seminar, technology developers and practitioners at the
forefront of the industry will come together to review the state-of-the-art
in optimization tools. Papers presented at this seminar will cover topics
such as CAD Integration, Shape Optimization, Topology Optimization,
Statistical or Probabalistic Optimization, and Design Process Adjustments to
make the best use of these technologies.
Seminar format will be in the form of presentations with ample time for
questions and discussion. An informal evening get together is planned along
with a technology showcase with vendor/sponsor demonstrations and
presentations. Interested users with industry case studies, technology
overviews, and sponsors are encouraged to respond to the organizers by July
31, 2001 to be considered for the agenda.
