New Technologies & Social Welfare
One Day Conference
Nottingham University
December 17, 9.30 - 5.30
What are the implications of new technologies for social welfare and the
future of the welfare state?
This is being subsidised by Nottingham University so there is no
conference
fee. Lunch and refreshments are provided but not accommodation.

Paul Frissen, 'Reinventing the Social Domain'
Roger Burrows, 'Reflexive Modernisation, Information Critique and the
Emergence of Wired Self-Help'
Flis Henwood, 'Negotiating Gender and ICTs in Health Care'
Brian Loader, 'ICTs and Social Welfare'
There will also be a 90 minute session available for other papers, but
abstracts must be received by October 31.
Those intending to attend MUST register by November 28. A package
giving
details about parking, travel to the university and accommodation will
be
sent out the week beginning October 15.
