Dear Dominic,
Yes I did recieve a few replies mainly all detailing the same as you - using
a fasicule system. One (S. Hourigan) kindly photocopied the article from
Paper Conservator volume 18 page 40 entitled HOUSING SINGLE SHEET MATERIAL:
THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FASCICULE SYSTEM by Helen Lindsay and Christopher
Clarkson, for me. Other suggestions were to use mellinex sleeves for each
individual letter in a folder system. And to get a conservator in to look
at them first - some got a bit frantic about not having got a conservator to
provide advice first - I thought it best to ask around first! We haven't
made any decision as yet, but I don't think guardbooks will be the answer if
we can help it. Thanks for your advice.
Regards,
Ivone.

Ivonne, tho' I said at the time on sending the message not to reply, I'm
curios now.
Did you get my suggestion on what to do with that collection of letters you
were asking about, and were the suggestions any use? Did you get any replies
from anybody else?
Sincerely Yours
Dominic Wall.
