There's not a little irony in the Historical Manuscripts Commission
discouraging the profession from a free and frank exchange of views which
could itself be described as dynamic!!

Subject: Friday afternoons
Please can we call it a day for this current discussion. There is
definitely some link between Friday and members' need to discuss their self
perceptions or obsessions.
Please remember before posting a message to the List that there are
currently 1148 members who may not wish to receive quite so much email.
Jim Jamieson and I as the duty owners of the List also receive about 8 error
messages for each posting. Today I have deleted 768 emails from the List.
Do have a peaceful weekend, content in the knowledge that archivists are a
much loved and appreciated profession at least as far as this List is
concerned.
