2001 Stata Users Group Meeting
Notice of Meeting & Call for Contributions
=====================================================================
Dates: Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 May 2001
Venue: Royal Statistical Society building, Errol Street, central London
Cost: to be confirmed
Audience: Stata users of all levels of experience and all disciplines
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The organisers of the 7th UK User Group meeting advise potential
participants of the meeting and seek contributions for presentation.
The scientific organisers of the meeting are
Bianca De Stavola <[log in to unmask]>
Stephen Jenkins <[log in to unmask]> and
in conjunction with
Timberlake Consultants, the UK distributors of Stata.

Please send contribution submissions to either Bianca or Stephen as soon
as possible, and by the end of February 2001 at the latest. Also get
in touch with us please if you would like to discuss the suitability of
a potential contribution. Confirmation of the programme, cost and
venue, and details of how to register will be circulated later, most
likely soon after the end of February 2001.
The meeting will most likely follow the format of previous meetings,
i.e. a mixture of longer talks and shorter talks. Examples might
include quasi-academic talks about statistical or graphical methods
centred on new user-written ados, or how particular data management
and (re)organisation or analysis problems have been solved. To get an
idea of what a typical User Group meeting is like, take a look at the
programmes and presentation abstracts of the previous User Group
meetings, available at
http://www.stata.com/support/meeting/
Bill Gould of StataCorp will be attending the meeting,
accompanied by another member of the StataCorp development team, and
make presentations. The content has not yet been decided (email us your
preferences!) but, for obvious reasons, is likely to focus on the
changes just introduced in version 7.0.
We look forward to hearing from you about your contributions.
