Something I've been meaning to suggest for some time is an FAQ for this
list (these lists - we may want to provide different FAQs for the
web-support and website-info-mgt lists). I'd like to progress this.
I think answers to an FAQ should be something that all / the majority
would be prepared to support. This might be tricky for an FAQ such as
"What The Best Platform For My Web Site?" There would probably not be
agreement on a direct answer, but we should be able to give the pros and
cons of different options.
Other questions which came up in today's realtime chat were "Does
providing an accessible Web site mean that I should stick to old HTML
standards, or such I use new ones?" or "Which standards should I be
using for developing a new Web site?"
Another one was "How to I develop a Web site / E-learning system in my
department which my central IT Services department will be willing to
support. Why do they keep going on about security, firewalls, etc.? for
Would anybody be interested in working on this?
I guess initially we might want to define the questions - rather than
starting with the answer (42).
