Apropos of Strathclyde's efforts to reflect HE input into IMS QTI
Specification (can we have an open consultation?), I'd like to ask who's
considering using IMS compliance to exchange questions in a real world
scenario? I know there's a lot of development work surrounding ensuring
questions in one IMS compliant system are exchangeable with another, but I'm
less aware of groups actually doing it.
Two specific questions I'd therefore like to ask are:
1. Are there groups routinely exchanging questions between, say,
institutions and different delivery systems, and if so what are your
2. Are there any groups out there with medical-related questions, either
clinical or pre-clinical (e.g. physiology) that would like to explore this
further? We've got some medical-related MCQs that we'd very much like to
attempt to share in this way.
My personal interest is in low-level exchange of XML learning resources
including MCQs, especially in a resource discovery context.
The barriers to this are the usual ones including IPR, preciousness of MCQs
as a resource, etc, so I'd like to hear from groups who have addressed these
issues with success and been able to actually use IMS compliance in a
