Our pilot is with the client installed version. Time consuming installation
but very smooth in operation.You are right, Peter, that there is a
browser-based version in development. We had a presentation from David
Holland( FENC) and Nick West (SIR) in July,and they were anticipating a
'beta' version this autumn. It is being designed to the IMS standards and
contains many more features, including mail, bulletin boards and
conferencing tools. I believe they are also adding a personal portfolio at
the student end, plus a few more tutor tools. We're impressed with the
present version so are looking forward to the new application. There is also
a load of new FENC content coming out soon. See the website for details -
