I think this is a key issue here, and for this list. There are undoubtedly
differences between VLEs in functionality, ease of use, and, crucially,
price. But much more significant, I think, is how to use them effectively
for teaching and learning - and that doesn't depend on the particular brand
of VLE which is used.
