Jim:
Mark Hayward gave me your name and told me to contact you. I am currently
working on a documentary for Chicago's PBS station, WTTW - Channel 11, on a
1915 ship sinking in the Chicago River.
We are looking for a Pulmotor. Apparently it was a machine used on the dock
to help save lives (844 people died in the accident) by geting water out of
peoples' lungs (or possibly used to pump oxygen into their lungs?).
Do you have one of these in your collection at the museum? If not, do you
know where in the world we could find one for our recreation?
I appreciate your time and assistance. If you have any questions, please
feel free to call me or my producer, Harvey Moshman, at 773-583-5000.
Thanks!
