Agreed, there is only 12V to Mono Monitors. Slab is indeed multi-voltage and I
do not believe there was a different PSU for the US only. Most common cause of
Mono Monitor failure is old age - the cathode filament or somesuch has a finite
life. Longer on the "newer" 040 monitors (with builtin microphones). I have no
clue whether it can be fixed (unlikely I would guess).
The pivot mechanism is clearly a Work of Art and thus is not supposed to be
understood by mortal man :-)
