UNIVERSITY OF BATH
ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The appointee will be a key member of the Staff Development Unit with responsibility for
co-ordinating staff development activities for research staff and research postgraduate
students in areas of teaching and learning, and research.
The appointee will be a graduate or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience of teaching,
learning and assessment in Higher Education, and/or staff development in support of learning
and teaching. The appointee will be expected to have good group facilitation skills and
presentation skills and be a member of SEDA, ILT or CIPD.
Experience of providing research-related training and development activities is also desirable,
as is a publication record in the area of learning and teaching and/or a masters degree in
Education.
The appointment is available from January 2002 or soon after.

Salary will be on Academic-Related Administrative Grade 2, £20,267 - £26,229 or
Grade 3, £27,273 - £32,215 according to relevant experience and qualifications.
