New e-mail discussion list on qualitative research in the Former Soviet
Union
'qual-fsu'
The 'qual-fsu' jiscmail discussion list was set up as a result of a 2-day
Workshop held in Scotland
in June 2001, entitled 'Negotiating the post-Soviet field: qualitative
research in the Former Soviet Union'. The workshop was attended by
participants from across the UK, Europe and North America, from a range of
social science disciplines including sociology, anthropology, social policy,
political science, and post-soviet area studies. Lively and enthusiastic
discussions were generated on methodological and substantive
issues relating to research in the region. It was decided that the creation
of an
ongoing and wider-reaching forum for discussing practical and ethical issues
around conducting qualitative research in the FSU was needed.
Input to the list is welcomed from those at any stage of their academic
career, engaged in, planning or interested in qualitative research in the
FSU region.
To join the list send a message to [log in to unmask] stating
'join qual-fsu your name' in the main body of the message. Alternatively go

alphabetical list and follow the instructions for joining.
