Subject: Business offer from RuSS
Date: 20 January 2001 14:54
Dear RuSS
There is an attractive business proposal to open in Cambridge
a restaurant-club with Russian/Uzbek/Kazakh ... etc - former
USSR cuisine. We are looking for business people interested
in this joint venture. We have funds and interested people in
Uzbekistan. We need to find interested people experienced in
catering business in Cambridge. The restaurant is also planned
to be a cultural centre for RuSS activities.
The initiative belongs to Nadejda Kim who is a RuSS member.
(I hope those who attended our Christmas party last year, do
remember delicious 'manty' Nadejda cooked). She lived and
worked in Cambridge last year and then went back home to
Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, a former USSR republic.
She works at the Uzbek Academy of Science, is a member of
their Committee of International Relations. Nadejda has a lot of
contacts amongst local government, business community and
mass media. She found some people in Tashkent who are
interested in opening a restaurant-club of Russian/ Uzbek
national cuisine in Cambridge and have funds for this project.
Uzbekistan is a big country in Central Asia, famous for cotton
and silk production, varieties of tea, 'shashlyk', 'manty', 'plov' - a
special rice dish - exotic fruits and many other delicious things.
There is no need to introduce Russia and Russian cuisine to
RuSS members. I am sure Russian food would be popular
amongst such a multi-cultural community as Cambridge, as it
is already in London. Specialists in Ukrainian, Kazakh, Estonian,
Belorussian, Buryat ... etc cuisines, are also welcome.
Those who have any ideas or any experience relevant to such
a project, are welcome to contact me.
With kind regards
