Dear All
We have received the following request: please reply directly to Deborah
Holmes.
Joe Andrew
Dear all,
I'm currently working on the entry 'merchant' for a thematic dictionary
of literature to be published in Turin by Utet. The subject is vast of
course, and the entry is supposed to look at European (in the widest sense)
and
colonial literature (in 5000 words!). I have lots of obvious examples
(Merchant
of Venice, Chaucer, Boccaccio etc), but as I am primarily an
Italianist/Germanis
t, I feel I might be overlooking important merchant
figures in Russian literature. I would be grateful for any
suggestions. As the finished product will necessarily be superficial,
brief pointers are all I'm looking for. Please reply to the following
address: [log in to unmask]
Thanks very much,
Deborah Holmes
