I suggest that, ultimately, all science communicators are
promoting something - a science, an organisation, a
publication, themselves ... In that sense, science
communication, like science or any other activity, cannot be
"value free" (or objective) or divorce itself from promotion. As
you rightly point out, Ben, we all have different motivations.
