Returning to your sonnet (my cold is a bit better but my head not very clear
as you will note) --
What I like is the "recombinable" aspect of the "sonnet." And indeed its
music! the rhythm holds firmly, and the lines do sing. Still, after the
first stanza I seem to lose the scenario, vivid as it is, and I can't seem to
follow the last stanza. I guess what happens is I can't get through the
meaning -- and (with my own work I'm hardly the one to comment on the
difficulty of arriving at meaning.) You have some wonderful phrases in the
poem but when I try to put them together my head swims (but my head is
swimming anyway today).
Trying to get through the day and hoping to write the Grooms review.
So good to read you on Genoa. Are you a working journalist? And how long
will you be in Genoa?
