Golly, Nicholas, wish I could! The definition of the term, even, I believe,
among its founders, is of some and even hot controversy, even tho' I guess
there are recognisable stylistic biases in LangPo, so I suppose it's rather
like a word one 'knows' but would be stretched to give a precise definition
to, without recourse to Sir Dictionary.
My policy with the mag was to harbour styles of dissent, and it didn't,
doesn't matter to me whether the poet was coming from a more trad or an
avant-garde-ish angle. I s'pose my own pieces therein are rather cryptically
present, but I do write poems that are very simple and accessible too.
Along those lines I was particularly happy with the mags two Antipodean
voices, as both writers, it seems to me, make a poetry that is neither
'mainstream' nor prefabricated modern.
Thanks for your words on my Morality follow up, but it was no more than a
reprise of what ahd emanated from both Kent and Alison.
best
Dave
