I love this poem - it's rhythms and repetitions. Delicious!
Erminia said: "I like the way the poem gets entrapped by the recurrence of these two terms “dirt” and “mind”, in a struggle that is lost in a Beckettian sense."
I find exactly that repetition and the blending/merging that it effects, undermines the 'dualism' that is proposed..... mind and dirt fright light heart debt - they all melt into each other.
And a (deliberate?) echo of Dylan Thomas - 'Do not go gentle' which I also enjoyed..... It echoes my current preoccupation with death (my sister died recently, hence I have been rather quiet on the list..... but glad to hear you all there chuntering away)
thanks for the poem
