I am circulating this letter from the Association of Photography in Higher
Education in case any photography courses haven't received it.
13th November
Dear Members
I know that several of you have been wondering when we were going to have
the next Association of Photography in HE Conference/AGM. We are sorry for
the delay but we have been beset by problems. Firstly Alan Hampson at
Cleveland College of Art and Design was arranging the meeting for early
this year, but his department was moved lock, stock etc. to new premises.
Debbie Baker from UCE then kindly volunteered to hold the meeting this
November and although we met in the summer and quite a lot of the
organisation has been undertaken, it has been impossible to finalise the
details in time.
Therefore, as we need a conference/AGM very urgently I have offered to hold
it in Swansea. I realise that it is only 5 years since it was last in
Swansea but the new staff here (Paul Jeff and Mark Cocks) are keen to
organise it with the help of Marco Salotti (Secretary) and myself.
We are suggesting 26th/27th February 2002 as those of us working to
semesters should have finished the semester one assessments. We should also
be able to get a good hotel deal at that time.
I know that the Institute of Art and Design Bournemouth are keen to hold a
Conference/AGM, we are hoping that they can hold an additional meeting
later in 2002.
Thankyou for your patience
With best wishes
Andrea Liggins
