I would talk to your IT guys.
It should be simple enough to put an encription on it (and cheap) so that
information sent between yourself and HR would only be readable to yourself
and HR. even if it is sent elsewhere by mistake they wouldn't be able to
open or read it. An easy cost effective solution.
