By the way, just a coda on the topic of streaming media interfaces: I was
just reminded that the piece of software developed for the presentation of
streaming media works at net.congestion - 'the media bank' - does actually
have multiple codec handling. It can support Real, WindowsMedia, Quicktime,
and MPEG files (+ DivX;) for all the trainspotter codec types out there).
The 'media bank' is also fully re-purposable. You can change the interface
graphics and folder structre etc by editing a single plain text
'configuration file'. It was made specifically so it could be used again and
again in many presentation contexts.
