SUMMARY:
This is the inaugural conference in the emerging area of biological
molecules in the gas phase. Dramatic technological advances both in
experimental and computational methodology have allowed us to begin to
interrogate large molecules of biological significance in a solvent free
environment. The goal of the conference is to provide the latest research
from the leading groups across the entire field, including spectroscopy,
mass spectrometry and theory. Results will be presented that span
molecular biology, from smaller model systems to true giants like the
chaperone Gro EL. The importance of solvation will be emphasized and a
featured lecture will be given by a leading solution biochemist. We hope
you are as excited about this new research area as we are and invite you to
participate in this ground breaking inaugural Gordon Research Conference.
Chairs: Michael T. Bowers ([log in to unmask]) and Martin F. Jarrold
([log in to unmask]).
