L. de Launay 1895; "Les mines d'or du Transvaal" pp. 114, 130-1, 134. states
that Glen Deep. is controlled by the Rand Mines group (then the largest
producer on the Rand). That the G. D. Co. was formed in June 1895 jointly
with Consolidated Goldfields with a capital of 500,000 pounds, issued 500,
000 shares, with Rand Mines owning 230,000 shares. G. D. then had a claim
block of 84.37 claims.
F. H. Hatch & Chalmers "The gold mines of the Rand", 1895 has no in-text
reference to G. D. but a large map in the pocket shows the G. D. claim block
in the Farm Driefontein, 2000-5000 ft. N. W. of Germiston adjacent to Rose
Deep of Rand Mines to the West. Also May Consolidated G. M. C. and
Glencairn G. M. C. are adjacent up-dip on the Main Reef outcrop to the
North.
