Thanks are due to NMRS for organising a new NAMHO conference for 2001, I
hope to attend.
The FMD situation in Ireland is still uncertain and we have not been able to
do any outdoor mining activities.
In fact the Government is considering a new law which will prohibit persons
who have been on farms or various other locations in the United Kingdom
(including Northern Ireland) and other FMD-affected areas from entering onto
farmland in this country - this law would make it difficult for UK members
to visit mining sites in Ireland this year.
