Subject: TV documentary
To: Association of Radical Midwives
We are an independent tv production company based in North Wales. We are
currently in the process of submitting programme proposals for S4C, the
Welsh Fourth Channel.
One of our ideas is a documentary series based on community midwives in
rural areas. We have, in the past, made a one-off documentary featuring the
Arfon area midwives, and we would now like to conentrate on an area in
mid-Wales which never seems to get the television coverage it deserves. The
original programme was made in 1997 and was received warmly by the audience,
and in particular the trainee midwives in the Bangor School of Nursing found
the programme to be invaluable as a training guide.
Would you happen to have a list of the midwives working in the mid-Wales
area? I am quite wary about approaching the National Health Service at this
early stage, as experience shows that they usually close the door before I
even finish the word 'television'!!
Hope you can be of some assistance,
Bethan Williams.
