Research Officer/Fellow in the History of Medical Provision in
Northern Ireland.
the postholder will research the history of medical provision in
Northern Ireland during the period of the Troubles. The post is a
joint one between the University of Ulster and Queen's University
Belfast and is funded by the Nuffield Trust. The successful
candidate will be expected to work under the supervision of and in
collaboration with Dr. James McKenna, the chief grant holder.
Applicants must have a doctorate in a relevant discipline in the
social sciences or humanities, at least two years' relevant
research experience, and clear research plans. For appointment at
research fellow level, applicants must have five years' relevant
research experience and a record of peer reviewed academic
publication in a relevant area.
The post will be tenable initially for the period of a year with the
possibility of a further extension. It will be located primarily at the
Jordanstown campus, but facilities will also be available at
Queen's University Belfast.
Salary will be in the range GBP17,451 - GBP26,229 (Research
Officer), GBP24,193 - GBP32,215 (Research Fellow).
