Reporting within the ISLA team - Information Science, Library and Archives
- in Lund, (currently 12 information scientists, librarians and
archivists), you will work in attractive library premises, with excellent

Job purpose
We are looking for a colleague who would be working closely with discovery
project teams to provide background project information and ensure
awareness of competitor activities, from patents, literature and pipeline
databases.
Principal accountabilities
 providing expertise in information retrieval and management
 monitoring competitor activities through patents, literature and pipeline
databases
 compiling competitor intelligence data
 anticipating information needs for discovery project teams
 current awareness to project teams
Additional potential accountabilities
 structure searching
 end-user training
Skills and experience
 degree in chemistry or biology
 documented professional experience of information retrieval, using major
database hosts such as eg DataStar and STN
 preferably patent and structure searching skills
 high level of information technology knowledge
 in depth knowledge of printed and electronic information systems and
sources
 previous employment within the drug, biotech or chemistry industry is an
advantage
 excellent spoken and written English
 excellent communication, networking and team-working skills.
