Hello!
Does anyone have any experience, recommendations etc on developing a stand-alone public internet point.
The vision!
To house an internet terminal in a waiting room, medical library (24/7), reception area etc, providing staff with access to say the OVID databases and journals and other web sites etc and also possibly the public with controlled internet access, so the system needs a keyboard, mouse, screen and (printer?). This rules out the NHS direct kiosks type solution.
There seems to be a ton of issues e.g. physical security, software access control, maintenance, vandal proofing, furniture design etc.
If anyone has any advice, experience, recommendations I would be very grateful to hear from you!
