SENIOR LIBRARY ASSISTANT (Cataloguing)
Salary: £18,752 - £21,938 (inclusive of London Allowance)
Status: Full time
Description: The Information Services Department is looking for an
experienced cataloguer to join its Library and Media
Services cataloguing team. Duties include subject indexing, classification
and cataloguing of all library material using the
Library's specialist thesauri and classification schemes. You will also be
responsibile for monitoring cataloguing throughput and for library material
processing. You will also be expected to carry out
routine administration of the Library's Unicorn management system as part
of the systems team, and to work regularly at one of the Library's public
service points.
You must have appropriate cataloguing and classification
experience, preferably in an academic library, including
the use of AACR and MARC. Experience of an automated library system and good
keyboard skills are essential. Experience of working with the public,
preferably in a library context, is desirable.
