Cathie,
Happy New Year to you. I read with interest your reply to this discussion and would like to know more about your new Learning and Training Group which embraces "information literacy. Who makes up the group? Library Staff alone or does it consist of other professionals involved with learning and teaching? What kind of agenda is it involved "key skills" etc. Do you have a learning and teaching strategy across the organisation? Do you encourage the development of those involved with teaching or training students to reflect on their performance? Through their own training or by peer observation?
Sorry if this all sounds too heavy - but i would appreciate a reply when you have time. I am currently studying for my PG Diploma in Learning and TEaching and would like to move forward the role of staff likewise involved.

Over the past few years we have used the term "information skills
training".
A new "Learning and Training Group" is reviewing policy in this
area. We are developing a whole new approach to our policy, and
are examining the concept of "information literacy" as a broader
aim, rather than "information skills" and "IT skills".
