Hi folks,
In relation to library users telling us that electronic access to
journals/databases has lapsed, has anyone used or thought of developing a
programme ( spiders/intelligent agents) that check access on a regular basis
and puts a report on your desktop?
I know there might be problems with systems denying access to particular
types of programmes, but it seems to offer a solution to lapses in access.
It doesn't solve the publishers/agents communication problems.
Perhaps we should send a letter signed by all libraries having problems with
access lapsing to be sent to the relevant publishers/agents, with an invitation
to meet and discuss solutions - turning individual moans into lots of
constructive criticism!
