Hi Melvin
I would imagine you would have to contact the publisher first as more than
likely they own the copyright to that article. If the article was downloaded
from the online journal then that would be for personal use only.

Subject: Copyright and electronic version of articles
I have been asked the following question by a member of
teaching staff. I'm
hoping someone on the list will know the answer. Any advice
gratefully received.
"I have been asked to provide an electronic version of a
paper published in
Microbiology in 1999, to be put on a website. I have PDF
file of the paper
from the library access system. Do you know whether there
would be
copyright restrictions in doing this?"
