Online Journals Sales Development Manager
Oxford University Press
OUP is looking someone who will:-
* Market our online journal corpus, as a whole and in subject clusters, to
the academic library market
* Calculate and negotiate pricing and terms for the supply of our online
journal content to academic library consortia worldwide
* Organise invoicing and the successful implementation of consortial online
journal access once deals are signed
* Liaise with individual libraries regarding the terms and conditions of
their OUP journals site licences
Candidates should ideally have either:-
* sales or marketing experience in academic publishing, or
* experience of e-journals collection development, acquisition, or
implementation in an academic library environment
The successful candidate will combine:-
a) an aptitude for the precision and attention to detail required when
dealing with the fine details of site licence contracts and complex pricing
calculations
b) a willingness to travel and present the OUP online journal corpus to
individual consortial representatives and, from time to time, groups of
representatives in a seminar environment
In the first year, it is likely that the tasks which call upon the
attributes described under a) above will occupy around 80-85% of the
jobholder's time. After that the job is likely to involve the development of
more automated support systems which will allow for more extensive market
outreach.
The position is based at our offices in Oxford, UK, but some travel will be
involved in the UK and overseas
Salary range: £19,500 - £25,000 p.a. according to experience.
