Director and Professor of Health Economics
The Chief Scientist Office of the Scottish Executive and the
University of Aberdeen wish to appoint a Professor of Health
Economics who will be the Director for the Health Economics Research
Unit. We are seeking an individual with an extensive record of high
quality published research in Health Economics and a good public
profile in the field. Applications are also invited from economists
working in related fields (eg. labour, industrial and public
economics) who are prepared to specialise in the health field. The
candidate must be a research leader and manager, able to increase
levels of responsive funding from Research Councils and other
funders. Excellent inter-personal skills are essential and knowledge
of the National Health Service and sympathy with its aims and ethos
are desirable. This is an established post, based at the University
Medical School. The appointment will be on the professorial scale.
