Subject: Clima2000 conference Italy
Hi everybody,
I think that I'll dare to post to the list again,
however, this time
I'll stay online for a while to check if things are
going wild one
more time :-)
This mail is just FYI, as I today learned about a
conference to be
held in Italy in September, Clima2000. For those of you
who happens to
be around Napoli there will be a workshop on Indoor
Environment
Engineering for heritage conservation, see the text I
pasted below. I
found this on the Clima2000 website:

Ciao

Look at the conference programme
Objective, aim and scope
The conservation of cultural heritage needs expertise
in Indoor
Environment Engineering (IEE) to
assist conservators and curators in monitoring and
conditioning the
indoor environment to
minimise the damaging effects by poor environmental
conditions.The
conservation of works of art
requires clean air and suitable and stable
environmental
conditions.The
main aim of the workshop
is to discuss and identify the needs for further
development in
research, practice and
manufacturing and to establish a REHVA Working Group to
carry out
Guidelines for Indoor
Environment Engineering for cultural heritage
conservation, in
connection with existing ISIAQ
WG21 ?x201C;HVAC in Museums?x201D;.
Who should attend
The workshop is structured to focus specifically on the
issues
described
above.Researchers,
practitioners and manufacturers in the field of IAQ and
HVAC
components
and systems
concerning cultural heritage as well as end users such
as local and
national conservators have to
be much more involved in developing
- methods and techniques for indoor environment
assessment
- recommendations for adjusting the environmental
conditions within
specific limits
- design criteria for new environments devoted to
conservation
- suitable technologies for climate control in macro-
and
micro-environments, based on active or
passive principles
Programme of the workshop
Livio de Santoli, Italy: Introduction to the topic,
Rehva´s role in
developing guidelines
Ted Steemers, Denmark: Indoor Environment for Archives
Christopher O. Muller, USA: Indoor Environment for
Museums
Marco Perino, Italy: Indoor Environment for Showcases
Toshie Iwata, Japan: Indoor environment monitoring:
methods and
techniques
Marco Filippi, Italy: Design criteria for HVAC systems
in museums and
archives
Alexander Zhivov, URSS: ISIAQ WS21: report on
activities
Conclusions and future action items
Further activities as Rehva Guidelines
Establishment of a working group for preparing European
guidelines.
Guidelines could deal with
the following topics:
- Environmental conditions for cultural heritage
conservation –
- Indoor environment monitoring: methods and techniques
–
- IAQ in museums and archives: sources and pollutant
effects on
artefacts –
- Design criteria for HVAC systems in museums and
archives -
- Design criteria for indoor environment control in
display cases –
