Dear All:
Does anybody have any experience with acquiring digital elevation data of
France? I'm supervising a student who requires relatively high resolution
data (grid resolutions of 20m or less) for a large part of the Dordogne
(visibility analysis of Middle Palaeolithic cave locations), and we
contacted the national mapping agency and were quoted a price of c.1200
pounds. This exceeds his/our budget for undergraduate research, but his
French (and mine, I'm sorry to say) isn't sufficient to determine whether or
not there are academic discounts, or whether such data is available freely
for non-commercial purposes. Any suggestions/advice?
Many thanks,
James
