An opportunity exists for a GIS Technician/Cartographer working out of a
London site on a contract basis.
We're seeking a reliable and competent individual who is conversant with
current GI issues and methods, and is capable of working on his/her own,
whilst also
having the ability liaise with all disciplines, and manage his/her time
according to project timeframes.
The project will be undertaken within an ESRI environment: in either
ArcView 3.2 or 8 format (yet to be decided).
External sources will provide data in a variety of data types, from CAD
through to AI coverages.
Therefore, I am looking for:
GIS technician/cartographer
1-2 years experinece of mainly Arcview, but with some knowledge and
understanding of ArcInfo, complete with a keen desire to learn.
A good understanding of geospatial issues is vital, as is a thorough
comprehension of data handling techniques and cartography.
Map output will be a large output of the project, and as such, an eye for
detail and accuracy is essential.
In short, a good all round player - with emphasis on map output.
Qualification in cartography/GIS/survey upwards would be preferred.
Experience within a survey/engineering background would be a benefit.
We can pay in the vicinity of 15-18 pounds per hour.
