You can find a more popular account of osumilite (in german only) with
photographs, but also its properties/characteristics, in the April edition
of Lapis.
http://www.lapis.de/lapisdeu/ausgaben/fr_ausg.htm
One of the distinctive features of osumilite in metamorphic rocks are the
-sometimes dendritic- patterns produced by its breakdown products,
symplectites of cordierite-Kfs-Opx-Qtz.
These are of course only indicators of the former presence of osumilite,
but samples from the same locality may still contain osumilite itself. As
John mentioned, the osumilite from Rogaland, Norway has pale pink
pleochroism, and osumilite-rich hand specimen show distinct pinkish hues.
Another good luck!
