Jean-Luc,
We have described St+Crd+Grt+Bt+Ky/Sil/And+Ms+Qtz assemblages in medium
grade metapelites from the Betic Cordilleras (Spain). We interpreted the
assemblages and associated reaction textures as the result of fast
decompression, and concluded that disequibrium better explain their
occurrence in these metapelites. See:
Garcia-Casco, A. and Torres-Roldan, R.L (1999) Natural metastable reactions
involving garnet, staurolite and cordierite: implications for petrogenetic
grids and the extensional collapse of the Betic-Rif Belt. Contributions to
Mineralogy and Petrology, 136, 131-153.

Dear All,
In relation with the paper from Pattison and al " polymetamorphic
origin of muscovite + cordierite + Staurolite + biotite " (1999), I would
like to know yours opinions about this thins section (attachment) found in "
la Montagne Noire " (France) where the equilibrium at Tmax seems to be
obvious.
Do you know some other examples like this?
Sincerely
