Luisah Teish (Jambalaya, Carnival of the Spirits) is definitely the most
accessible source. A great storyteller, and a strong feminist spin as well.
Ruth Landes' classic The City of Women (about Candomble in Brazil) has been
reissued in paperback, very non-academic. Santeria: an African Religion in
Latin America by M. Gonzalez-Wippler is an oldie, probably OOP, but a good
intro.
>Can anyone recommend some books that I could list for people to read on
>'Santeria', Voudon or other Orisha Traditions? This is for general rather
>than academic readership, so good reading material that is factual and not
>too fanciful is what I'm aiming for.
