Are we making the most of our informal places of learning? Can we hope to
offer something for everyone? In conjunction with the Campaign for Learning
in Museums & Galleries (clmg), the Northern Arts Education Forum and GEM
(North East), this year's Regional Education Conference will focus on the
wide variety of lifelong learning initiatives that have taken place in
galleries, libraries, museums and arts venues in the region over the last
few years. The outcome of work supported by clmg and the DfEE will be
explored and examples of good practice from libraries, archives and arts
organisations in the region will also be examined. Titus Alexander, one of
the UK's leading authorities on family learning, will give the keynote
speech and facilitate the afternoon workshops. The afternoon session will
concentrate on improving networks, increasing collaboration at local and
sub-regional levels, and on developing lifelong learning strategies and
practices at your venue.
