you never turn the volition of your imagination over to someone
else's authority. text is not created by an author independent of
the reader. the audience is always implied. and i never sniped at
the authors...i am taking aim at the theorists who place the creative
power, the imagination, solely in the lap of the author...as if
worshipping a fucking shrine, a shrine that has a single cobblestone
path that leads up to it...a shrine that we all pay admission to
see...i am taking aim at the theorists who base their ideas upon a
logos that builds a shed around specific works in order to read for
an audience...theorists who like to teach how to see really are only
interested in teaching people what to look at.
