I hope I'll be excused for adding that 'exegesis' is very much in the
domain of scripture scholars and hence theology, not a totally
unrelated discipline to enviroethics. Within the confines of
theology, an exegete exegetes the scriptural text. This professional
commonplace, not jargon, has been in normal use for longer than the
30 years I have been familiar with it. Though trained in philosophy,
I leave comment on the term's use outside of theology to others and
other places, in accord with the listowner's wishes. I hope this
casts light and makes for precision.
Regards, Paul Fyfe.
