Anyone have a website reference for the above please? I
searched the EPSRC site for DSA, disability, and disabled students allowances,
looking for guidance but came up with nothing. Would anyone currently
assisting students with claims for DSAs from EPSRC care to make contact off
list? I'd appreciate an opportunity to compare notes.
Thanks
Chris

Subject: Re: Support rates and DSA
I suspect that the rate of £35/hour quoted by Skill
originated with
NFAC. This was the rate it set for members some years
ago and it
applied for several years thereafter. I think our
members must have
communicated this to Skill during one of their periodic
reviews for
the Directory they produce on behalf of the DfES.
However, NFAC
increased this to £40/hour some time ago. This does not
mean the
end service provider would necessarily receive this
rate as there are
going to be admin charges where the university is
prepared to set
up and administer the service.
CCPD is wary about being too proscriptive in its DSA
reports about
rates for services that may have be set up and
delivered elsewhere.
And we usually try to ascertain what local DOs can
deliver and for
how much. However, even we question rates of over £50
per hour
as we have had recommended to us in the past.
