E-commerce: Themes and issues in theory and practice
is a one day seminar being hosted by the Open University Business School
on
Tuesday 30 October 2001 at the Open University, Milton Keynes.
The seminar aims to draw together academics and practitioners in
e-commerce
for an exchange of information and ideas about where we believe we have
now
got to with our deeper understanding of the theoretical and practical
issues in e-commerce.
Invited speakers include:
Alan Mather, Chief Executive Officer, Office of the e-Envoy
"Vision into Action" (Keynote address);
Dr David Horner, School of Information Management, University of
Brighton
"Ethical issues in electronic environments";
Alan Smart, School of Management, Cranfield University
"eBusiness: the business-to-business application of the Internet";
Simon Tanner, Senior Consultant, UK Higher Education Digisitation

"Digitisation, electronic libraries and new structures for the delivery
of
electronic resources";
Dr David Barnes & Dr Matthew Hinton, the Open University Business
School,
"Operations management in an e-commerce context"
The seminar will take place from 10.00am - 3.00pm and includes lunch.
