Open Job Positions at Xerox Research Labs in Grenoble, France
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Researcher - Devices and Intermediation
-----------------------------------------
The Grenoble Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
researcher to work in the Coordination Technologies Area on the
subject of devices and intermediation. Our team has a strong
theoretical and practical background in community-based and
distributed computing. With this new position we intend to re-inforce
our competencies related to mobile devices and wireless networking and
applications that can make use of these technologies. We are
particuarly interested in the potential for mobile devices to support
cooperative work and the need for coordination among such devices in
order to build useful and reliable applications from dynamically
changing collections of both mobile and fixed (e.g. desktop) devices
and services.
We are seeking a person with background in research, who also has good
experience in programming and who is able to understand the special
challenges posed by mobile devices and wireless networks. If you have
both excellent programming skills and the imagination to invent
innovate applications based on mobile hardware then you should take
this opportunity to join a motivated and highly dynamic team, which
seeks to combine world-class research work with practical
experimentation. The work requires a good balance between scientific
and technical excellence, and very good skills in communication. You
should have a scientific background from academic or industrial
research, and you will typically have a Ph.D.
This is a permanent position and is available immediately.
