Black and Asian Offenders: Criminogenic Needs and Experiences of Probation
Four research staff required (2 full-time, 2 half-time) for 18 months
The Research Development and Statistics Directorate of the Home Office has
commissioned research on the criminogenic needs of Black and Asian offenders
on probation or community rehabilitation orders. The project, which is
supported by the National Probation Directorate, is based in the
Universities of Glamorgan, Lincolnshire and Humberside, Lancaster and
Swansea, and directed by Dr. Ali Wardak at the University of Glamorgan.
Other academic staff are Dr. Bankole Cole (Lincolnshire and Humberside),
Professor David Smith (Lancaster), and Professor Peter Raynor and Maurice
Vanstone (Swansea).
We wish to appoint four Research Officers for the project, for a period of
18 months from 1 October 2001. Full-time researchers are required at
Glamorgan and Lincolnshire and Humberside. Maximum starting salaries will be
in the region of £22,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Half-time researchers are required at Lancaster and Swansea. Maximum
starting salaries will be in the region of £22,000 pro rata.
