www.polyhedron.com has benchmark comparisons between Absoft,
Lahey/Fujistsu, NAG, and NAS.
Many in our department use the Portland Group compiler. (For most of our
codes, pgf90 outperforms lf95, the overall "winner" on the Polyhedron
site. I have been told Polyhedron couldn't get the licenses straightened
out to include the PGI compiler in their benchmarks.)
Intel has a compiler in beta test. (I haven't tried it and probably
couldn't say much about it if I had because of non-disclosure agreements.)
DEC/Compaq (now or soon to be Intel) has a compiler for alpha linux, and, I
believe, was looking at making their Windows compiler available in the x86
linux market, but unless Richards knows about something I don't (which is
certainly possible), they do not have an x86 linux compiler available _now_.
