FW: Request for information about British children going to the Caribbean to
be educated.
Roger Bolton Productions and Flame TV are making a television programme
about
British children with Caribbean parents who go back to the Caribbean to be
educated. In particular, the programme is following 5 children who go back
to Jamaica for an academic year.
The project's researcher, Molly Milton, is interested to hear from any
members of the listserv who have looked into this area, or have written
about this trend. It could be in
the broader sense - looking at the Caribbean - or specifically about
Jamaica. Someone may also have looked at the reasons why African Caribbean
parents decide to send their children abroad to be educated (esp. regarding
lack of cultural diversity in the UK National Curriculum, school exclusion
issues etc.), or looked at
the numbers of parents who are deciding to do this.
